Journal Night

touchstones-and-warp-and-weave

Want to see your work published? We can help. On Thursday at 6:30pm in LA 207, we’ll be having our Journal Night. At that event the managing editor for Touchstones will be with us to talk about the acceptance process; previously published students will share their work and insights; and we’ll walk you through every step of the submission process.

UVU runs multiple well-reputed student journals. Touchstones is well-established and accepts literary fiction, poetry, drama, creative nonfiction, and visual art. Warp & Weave, a more recent addition to our lineup, accepts speculative (e.g., fantasy, sci-fi, horror, etc.) fiction and poetry.

The deadline to submit to Touchstones is Thursday at midnight, so we can help you with your actual submission. You can also use this as a chance to get ready for Warp & Weave‘s deadline of 5pm on September 25th. After going through the basics, we’ll show you how to track down and submit to journals outside of UVU.

While it’s a bit late to edit for this semester, we encourage those interested in workshopping to take advantage of our workshop facilitation program. And for this Thursday’s event, you’re encouraged to bring your own work, your laptop, your questions, and your friends. Hope to see you there.
